The fifth UK F2 workshop was held on Friday and Saturday 15-16 July 2022. There were two late cancellations, but sadly I was unable to find replacements to take their places. The four people attended were from the UK (2), Austria and the Netherlands, one was a repeat attendee. Also there was an additional trainee.
The workshop format was changed, having learnt from problems encountered at the May 2022 workshop. The course booklet was expanded from 32 pages to 75 pages, and I asked the participants to follow the booklet instead of them watching me perform the tasks first. (This saved a lot of time.) Also each member was allocated a bigger and better storage tool box. The mains powered lamps were also made even brighter by replacing their white diffusers with clear perspex covers, and there was a second 4 channel oscilloscope with a larger 8 inch display.
The workshop went exceptionally well, and we were ahead of schedule so there was an hour for everybody to practice refoaming, which was the most difficult part of the course. By 5.30pm everybody completely finished their cameras, and we promptly went to a local Chinese restaurant at 6pm for the end of course meal.
Feedbacks from the participants :
'It was a very nice positive and inspiring workshop. Where we got the chance to get some knowledge and literally the ins and outs about the Nikon F2, think we are all lucky to get this chance to learn from Sover Wong. Indeed his standard is second to none!’
‘A well run, informative and highly enjoyable couple of days of workshop. Sover's knowledge of the F2 and skills relating to the service and repair of the F2 is truly second to none, and this definitely came across throughout the whole time we attended.’
‘It was amazing to share time with other members, learning the ways of the Nikon F2 from "the master". I'm sure it is something we will not forget.’
'I haven't provided much feedback on your course because I found very little to "criticise" you on and you clearly had picked up on the areas that you thought you were weak on.'
'Thank you very, very, very much - a card given to me with some warm words'.
